Why the SPMX weighs what it weighs
The published reasoning behind every pillar weight in
the Specialised Metric, version 0.2.0.
This class scores **only the three pillars that are comparable by construction**, and says so plainly rather than inventing scales it cannot justify.
- Autonomy (0.45) — the ladder is class-independent: a teleoperated pipe crawler and a teleoperated humanoid are equally teleoperated.
- Commercial (0.35) — shipping is shipping.
- Ecosystem (0.20) — a dollar of funding is a dollar of funding.
- Manipulation, Mobility, Hardware (0.00) — excluded. Not because these machines lack them, but because no reference scale spans a pipe crawler and a planetary rover. A number built on a scale that does not exist is worse than no number.
